For this activity, students were asked: When do you drink water? What are you doing while you drink water?
On separate sticky notes, they write their responses.
Based on their responses, students identified that there are different types of actions and/or situations that arise from drinking water. Some actions are deliberate while others are random. Some are stationary while others might be mobile.
We then organized our ideas and came up with different types of people who may drink water in different ways. An athlete may have specific needs to keep hydrated on the go where as a video game developer may require a different type of water bottle that would be better suited to meet their needs.
The fun began when we decided to tailor the creation of a water bottle to meet the specific needs of that person. In a short space of time - less than a period - groups of students created a plan and incredible prototypes.
Stay tuned for pictures and information on their prototypes!
